The University of Southern Mississippi’s Mississippi Defense Initiative is sponsoring a Career Fair at the OCEANS 2023 Conference.

The Career Fair will take place on Wednesday, September 27, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. in the OCEANS 2023 Exhibit Hall. Students, young professionals, those looking for their next position, military personnel transitioning to the workplace, veterans, and current National Guard and Reserve members are encouraged to use this opportunity to find your perfect career.

Conference registration is required, however, if not attending the full, technical conference, a jobseeker can register for a no-cost “Exhibit Hall Only” pass. Find out more below on how to reserve time with specific companies.

  1. Participating exhibitors – Provide a short description of the types of jobs and career paths they have available. We will continue adding participating exhibitors, as they join the program, so check back.

 

  1. Jobseekers - Review and select which companies they would like to visit individually during the Career Fair. Meetings with those companies at their exhibit booth will be arranged on a first-come, first-served basis. The deadline to sign up is September 15th.  Meetings will be subject to remaining availability after this date. Students also have the option to tour in a group setting to learn more about future opportunities.   1. Meetings at the OCEANS 2023 Career Fair – All Career Fair participants will be provided a schedule of their arranged meetings in the Exhibit Hall. Jobseekers are encouraged to bring copies of their resume for each meeting, including contact information.

 

  1. Interview room - Will be available on Thursday, September 28, at the convention center should a company wish to conduct a one-on-one interview.

 

  1. Interested in this meeting but not able to attend? The Career Fair registration will include an option for those seeking jobs but unable to attend in person. Email your resumes and contact information (also indicate the companies of interest) and the information will be shared with identified companies.
